Time in Tartarus

ebook

The planet Gaea, once lush with forested trees and fertile soil, has been devastated over the years, becoming a desolate wasteland. To ensure the survival of the Gaean people, the government implements a plan to build Tree-Cities above the toxic clouds. As promises turn to lies, the corrupt government leaves those deemed unable to contribute to society abandoned on the surface.
Athenos, a Gaean born into prosperity in the Tree-City, Phloem, came from a family that helped those on the surface. They provided aid and care to those in need. When the government enacted the Anti-Xylem Act prohibiting contact between Tree-City residents and surface dwellers, Athenos' family is punished by the government as they violated the act.
Athenos leads the Preservists, a group seeking justice and aims to return Gaea to a state of its founding principles. He heists the final piece of evidence they need to vindicate their cause and expose a corrupt government. Amid the retrieval, someone (or something) kidnapped Athenos, confining him to a wicked place called Tartarus.
In Tartarus, Athenos fights to survive with the hope the ruler of the realm will one day release him of his bondage. Athenos remains optimistic and teams up with fellow prisoners to try and find a way to defeat their overlord and return home. Their hope turns to despair as clues unravel a mystery, revealing that returning home may not be an option.
